Oversight
We the people. We are the best source of information for members of our government to rely on. We report when roadways are damaged, structures need repair, and a variety of other pieces of information so our localities can manage it. What CONGRESS needs to do is maintain strong oversight of our national transportation system, including agencies like the Federal Aviation Administration, and companies like Amtrack, and Greyhound. Oversight does not mean Congress, the President, nor the Supreme Court, have the authority to terminate employment or any other action to interfere with operations. The job of any government oversight is to ensure comliance with and enforce regulations that keep our nation safe, prevent and help rebuild after disasters, and otherwise represent the people. It does mean that they can hold accountable individuals or agencies that fail in their duty to keep We, the People, safe.
Repair and Maintenence - Areas of improvement are prevelent in every state. This ranges from railroads to public roadways, to airspace. Ensuring that our all of these areas are regularly checked and maintenence is handled, should be the responsibility of the local government with congressional help from every district. This means working with Governors, Mayors, and County officials, to provide lines of communication that effectively report necessary details within each state like needed materials, employment opportunities, improvement suggestions, budgets, and time frames for project/repair completion within each state and which. And when there is an aggregious mess up, Congress can hold someone accountable. Funding is necessary to support our economy so implementing appropriate budgets for each area is going to help set a schedule for repairs and maintanence.
